Trappe Borough Tax Collector, Montgomery County PA


 CASH WILL NO LONGER BE ACCEPTED AS OF JANUARY 1, 2020

As requested by Montgomery County Commissioners, Borough Council has agreed to extend the discount period for taxes from April 30 to May 31, 2020.  Due to Governor Wolf’s  order: the TAX COLLECTOR has cancelled all in person hours for April. When new hours are set the Borough will post the updated information.

 

Update May 14, 2020:  due to the continuation of the stay at home orders there will be no in person hours at Borough hall during May 2020. 

 


Update July 1, 2020:  School District millage rate has been set  to 34.51 mills.

In person collection hours will be listed on bill.    The school district has passed a resolution for the 2020 school bill only to extending the discount date of August 30, 2020 until September 30, 2020.  There will also be 4 installments this year (only this year).  Please note the due dates when you receive the bill. 

If you choose to utilize the installment option, the 1st installment will be due by September 15, 2020, 2nd installment will be due October 15, 2020, 3rd installment will be due November 15, 2020 and 4th installment will be due December 15, 2020.  

AS ALWAYS. NO PERSONAL/BUSINESS CHECKS AFTER DECEMBER 15, 2020.  PLEASE ALLOW EXTRA TIME WHEN MAILING PAYMENTS AS THERE HAS BEEN A SIGNIFCANT DELAY IN THE MAIL SERVICE.

Effective January 1, 2016 the drop box at

Borough hall will no longer be utilized.

EFFECTIVE WITH JANUARY 1, 2013 ALL TAX BILLS WILL BE MAILED DIRECTLY TO THE HOMEOWNER. TAX BILLS WILL NO LONGER BE FORWARDED TO MORTGAGE COMPANIES AS IN THE PAST.

 

TAX COLLECTORS COPY OF THE TAX BILL MUST

BE INCLUDED WITH YOUR PAYMENT OR PAYMENT

WILL BE RETURNED.  IF PAYING WITH ONLINE

BANKING, PLEASE FOWARD BILL SEPARATELY

STATING SUCH AND BILL WILL BE MATCHED WITH

PAYMENT WHEN RECEIVD.

Personal Checks cannot and will not be accepted after December 15 for current year taxes due to reporting & filing deadlines with the appropriate taxing authorities payment must be in the form of a cashiers check/bank check, money order or paid in cash.

EMPLOYEES AT BOROUGH HALL CANNOT ACCEPT PAYMENT ON BEHALF OF THE TAX COLLECTOR.
